Health Department to Begin COVID Vaccinations for Those 70 Years Old and Above

Tuesday, January 12th at 7:30 am, Greenup County Health Department will begin accepting appointments to vaccinate the population which are 70 years old and over. The Moderna brand vaccine will be the vaccine made available. There will be no charge for those opting to receive the vaccine. At this time, the health department will only vaccinate Greenup County residents and those that work in Greenup County.

The health department expects a large volume of calls, with a limited amount of available phone lines, they ask for patience in trying to make appointments. Walk-In appointments will not be permitted. The vaccinations will be administered in the GCHD Health Education Center at the rear of the facility.  When arriving for your appointment please stay in your car and wait for the staff to call and let you know when you may enter the building. Each person being vaccinated will be required to remain at the health department for 15 minutes following administration of the vaccine. Limited supplies are available.
